I was born and raised on Taos Pueblo. I was one of three children. My father was a drum maker and there was always music around the house where I grew up. Whenever family members or friends were around, we would beat the drums and sing. All of the wood used in making drums comes from the trees that I personally select and cut from the local forest. I then hand carve the wood to various sizes, from a 4" pencil holder to a 30" PowWow drum. The hides I use are of top quality deer and cowhide, making my drums to have excellent sound quality as well as visual appeal.
