		My name is Gilbert Wilson. I was born and raised on the Navajo Nation in northwest New Mexico. It is a country rich in texture and sacred beauty. The stark and unforgiving landscape defines and shapes the sacred nature of self. This in turn creates a deep texture allowing positive feelings towards others (hahozho). I am an award winning Navajo artist. I attended and graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts with a double major (in 2-D and 3_D art). I create and share expression of beauty all around me. My enthusiasm, passion and motivation for art is nurtured by working in different media: drawing, painting, jewelry and sculpture. My work reflects the beauty of being appreciative and thankful that others admire my beautiful finished work.
