The Pueblos and Reservations are residential communities, not living museums nor theme parks.

Dress modestly. Inappropriate clothes can turn off your hosts in traditional villages where modest dress is the custom.

No photographs, visual recording, audio recording, nor sketching allowed without a permit.

Get tribal permits for fishing and hunting sports and others, such as boating or backpacking, where available.

Dances are religious ceremonies, not performances. Please observe them with respect and quiet attention.

Do not applaud during or after dances.

Do not climb walls or other structures as some are several hundred years old and damage easily.

Kivas and graveyards are not to be entered by non-Native people.

Leave all alcohol, weapons, drugs and pets at home.

Obey posted traffic, parking, and speed limit signs.

Please enter a home only if you are invited to do so. It is courteous to accept an invitation to eat, but do not linger at the table, as your host will probably want to serve many guests throughout the day. Thank your host for sharing, but do not tip or pay, as it is not appropriate.

Please do not approach dancers as they are entering, leaving or resting near the kiva.
