Location: The Apache Nation spans across Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico & Mexico.

The Apache were originally an aggressive, nomadic tribe and were once joined by the Navajo.The Apache are well-known for their superior skills in warfare strategy and inexhaustible endurance. The tribe also depended on hunting deer and other animals, and on wild game, seed and fruit gathering, livestock, and some horticulture for food. The men lived with and worked for their wives' families. They also still continue to practice many of their tribal customs. The Apache are composed of six regional groups:Lipan, Western , Jicarilla, Chiricahua, Mescalero, and Kiowa . They displayed their hunting skills with raids, usually of farms.The Apache are described as a gentle people and faithful friends. Today, cattle, timber, and tourism help provide income for them. It continues to forge ahead in its goal to attain economic self-sufficiency .

The Apache Indians are well-known for their delicate silversmithing, beadwork, weavings, sculpture, and beautiful baskets.
